Caroline is constantly babbling these days. Chris and I keep saying "One of these days soon, we're going to actually be able to understand her." I'm sure it won't be long. Here are a few of the things that she says that we can understand: "bye, bye dada", "nigh nigh dada" (sometimes dadee), and most recently "ight" for light. Those are the things she says most often. I think she says bye, bye and night, night to daddy becasue those are things she has heard every day for many months now. Usually, Chris leaves for work while I am feeding her breakfast, and we say bye, bye several times as he is leaving. Same thing in the evening. I put her to bed, and as we head upstairs we say night, night. She is really good at repeating it most of the time, and sometimes her enunciation is as clear as a bell. She said "light" for the first time a few days ago in reference to the light switch at the top of the stairs. I have occasionally turned the light off and on for her and said, "light on, light off." One day, we were passing it on our way downstairs and she looked at the switch and said "iiiigh". I was totally shocked!
Other things that we have heard her repeat (or, at least, we think she repeats): Mickey, Daisy (her stuffed animals), ladybug (a toy), what's up (we were rolling when she repeated that one), ball, and she has a version of Buddy and Rocky (our dogs) that is something like "kee" for Rocky and "bu-ee" for Buddy. She also says "Nana" when her Nana is here.
