More Words

Over the past week, there have been more words that I could add to the list. Chris pointed out to me that she can really say just about anything by repeating what she hears. But, these lists are words she uses consistently and in reference to the appropriate object. Here are the other words: bird, bowl, computer ("puter"), spoon, share, moon, keys, work, fish, hat, nose, ear, mouth, teeth and Hadley ("adee).

We were outside playing one afternoon and Caroline pointed to the sky and said "moon.". Yup. Sure enough, the moon was already out in the sky. Chris and I looked at each other in complete surprise that she could point out the moon.

Often during the day Caroline will ask about Chris, saying "Daddy?". And I tell her daddy is at work. So, now she says "daddy urk" (daddy work). It's pretty cute.

I have started trying to tell Caroline that she needs to share things with other children. So, that's where she has picked up the word share. I use it often when we go to the park. Her friends Hadley and Sam have little ride-on cars with the adult push handle, and she loves to play in them when they bring them to the park. However, she wants the car all to herself and says "share" as she pushes Sam or Hadley out of their own cars. I have to stifle my laughing evey time. We're still learning about sharing and probably will be for a long time to come.

She's talking really well!

FWIW, we've found that the concept of taking turns works much better than "sharing", which is extremely difficult for a kid to grasp.
